True colors
There they go again.
The Republican Party bailing out President Obama, that is.
They just can't help themselves.
Obama was bogged down in that massive oil spill catastrophe in the Gulf of Mexico, for not "emoting" and for his administration reacting too slowly.
The prez's popularity was falling faster than Lady Gaga's wardrobe at a Yankees game when the GOP stepped into it again.
They poor dears can't help themselves.
You see, the Republican Party is defending BP.
Hell, they're even apologizing to the oil titan that was solely responsible for creating the worst ecological catastrophe in our nation's history.
Oil and water don't mix --- this much we know.
But the GOP and oil money are Siamese twins joined at the wallet.
Last week during a congressional session broadcast live over cable news networks ---- and Fox --- Texas Republican Congressman Joe Barton apologized to BP creepy CEO Tony Hayward for Obama ordering the corporation to put $20 billion in escrow to, you know, help the people of the Gulf whose businesses and livelihoods will be gutted by the massive oil spill.
Barton fell short of blaming the men for goofing off when they were killed on the job when the disaster occured.
The GOP is living up to its new moniker --- the GOBP. But Barton was not an isolated case in this absurdity.
Mississippi Gov. Hayley (what kind of a name is Hayley for a man anyway?) Barbour, whose state is affected, was concerned that BP was being punished too severely and that it may not be able to make a profit.
Minnesota Congresswoman Michele "They're coming to take me away, ha! ha!" Bachmann said "don't let BP be chumps" and belched that Obama's presidential decree against BP would mean "redistribution of wealth." That's right, genius, keep the money where the mouthpieces are.
Of course all these nitwits were getting their talking points, calling Obama's decision a "slush fund" and that it was a "shakedown, " from defacto leader Lush Rimbaugh, back from his honeymoon and as gooned as ever on disdain for humanity.
Naturally, Fox Noose talked all this drool up and was kind of laying low early on after Barton exposed the party's true colors.
The GOBP hates Obama so much and can't help saying no to everything he proposes that they'll take the side of the bastards responsible for laying waste to the Gulf.
Too many "small people" will be affected, one supposes.
All the GOBP and Fox can retaliate with is that Obama was playinggolf and hosting "Beatles concerts" when he should be worrying night and day about the oil spill because the government wants to take control of everything and it must be stopped and why didn't the government act quicker to this catastophe?
Really, that's the best you've got?
During his apology for his apology (which didn't take very long), Barton referred to his 'please forgive us' to BP as a "misconstrued misconstruction" (who's his dialect coach, George W. Bush?)
These bozos are starting to make W. look like Churchill.
Keep letting the good ol' boys from the South be your mouthpieces, GOBP. At least oil floats, your party may soon be sinking.
You won't have a platform as much as you'll have a plank.
Keep a steady footing there, mateys.
