The man with the bad tan

| | Comments (0) |

The $26 billion jobs bill passed by the House on Tuesday saved the jobs of hundreds of thousands of teachers, firefighters and police officers.

Yet House Minority Leader John "Bad Tan" Boehner called it a "special interest bailout."

If you don't know who Boehner is, he's the Republican from Ohio famous for saying "Hell no, you can't" to everything. You will know him by his orange face ---- he's a tanning booth freak who is even lousy at getting a proper tan.

What Boehner is good at is taking 119 days off in the last year to play golf.

"Sorry, Congressman Boehner isn't in today. He called in golf."

If Republicans take back control of the House in November, this reptile will become Speaker.

Boehner and his party that services the wealthy top 2 percent in this country have shown no signs of concern about the plight of hard-working Americans.

Unless you count Boehner's insipid idea of raising the retirement age of hard-working people to 70.

How does that strike you thirtysomethings?

This latest voteby Republicans saying no to save jobs is more proof of where the party of Boehner stands.

The GOP couldn't use the excuse that this jobs bill isn't paid for ---- because it is. The bill is paid for because the money is coming from closing tax loopholes of multi-national corporations that ship jobs overseas.

And if anything can rile up the Republican base it's taking money that greedy corporations will just spend on, well, things like golf outings with the man with the bad tan.

This is why the GOP wants to extend the Bush tax cuts (which aren't paid for) that protect the rich.

Might as well keep taking it from the middle class because you guys have been sticking it to them for years.

Let Boehner and his brood take their country back.

What's also discouraging about this latest nay vote by the naysayers on the jobs bill is how Republicans continue to degrade teachers.

Republicans have a history of failing to support the teaching profession. Most likely because teachers tend to vote Democratic.

And they drill Darwinism in our children's heads and pass out condoms to fourth graders!

Download that Palin video, the one where she's trying to win over a woman displaying the "worst governor ever" banner in Alaska. Catch the look on Palin's face when the woman tells her she's a teacher. Palin utters an unimpressed "oh" and grimaces ---- as if the woman said she made a living as a porn star.

To quote Mr. Gump: "Stupid is as stupid does."

The GOP has always had it in for the well-educated. Nixon hated the East Coast institutions of higher learning.

But even Daddy Bush was a preppie. And W. went to Yale. He majored in cheerleading, but still.....

The GOP keeps coming off like it wants the country to be stupid. At least the electorate. Scare people into not thinking for themselves seems to be the GOP's m.o.

You have to be out of your mind ---- or maybe brain dead ---- not to have voted for that jobs bill.

One of the many reasons the Republicans have so much disdain for President Obama is because he's usually the smartest one in the room.

You couldn't even say that about W. when he was in that classroom reading "My Pet Goat" to those kids on Sept. 11.

The dumbing down of America may be the logic behind Republicans saying they want to take their country back.

Republicans gave us W.

But the country elected him twice (yes, he won the 2000 election ---- get over it Al Gore fans.)

W. wasn't only the guy you wanted to have a beer with ---- he was the living entity who proved that Americans don't really like their president smarter than they think they are.

Of course this is one of many problems haunting Obama.

Smart people turn voters off. They remind us of the smarty pants kid in high school who knew all the answers and always had his hand upwhenever theteacher asked a question.

A report released just this week said that kids in the United States rank 12th in the world when it comes to success ratio of graduating high school.

We used to be number one.

Instead of whining about leaving the next generation a "weakened country" ---- as the son of former Vice President Dan "Mr. 'Potatoe' Head' Quayle is crying about in his political ads in Arizona --- listen and learn.

Don't put your faith in politicians ---- especially doomsayers who want this country to fail and are counting on your anger to sweep them into office.

You will know them by the money that's behind them so they can dominate the airwaves with their doomsaying ads. They have no answers --- they just want the power. Which brings them money. Which, in turn, makes them think they can one day be a part of that wealthy 2 percent. They're already aware that you will never be in that exclusive club.

You will know them by their never answering tough questions, but rather spewing standard patriotic pablum they believe only they have access to: like they support the Constitution and the military and freedom of speech.

You will know them by their negativity. By their penchant for smirking at bad news they can blame on the other guy.

You will know them by their bad tans.
