Command indecision

    The natural disaster of apocalyptic proportions in Japan and the military engagement in Libya has rejuvenated the recently dormant-for-too-long Fox News ---- they're now back to going berserko grande over what they maintain is President Obama's lack of leadership.

One Foxhole actually said Obama was more concerned about filling out the brackets for March Madness.

There they go again, not even trying anymore to be subtle with their borderline racist remarks: A black man is only interested in basketball.

Good thing W. isn't still president. He would've gotten March Madness and Libya confused and ordered airstrikes over Gonzaga. It wouldn't be the first time he invaded the wrong place.

Granted, it does send mixed messages that Obama is on a goodwill tour of Latin America while all this other March Madness is going on in Libya. He may be forgetting his oft-quote line from Dr. King about "The fierce urgency of now."

Mr. President, Chile is not on the map as far as what's concerning Americans now. You may be a multi-tasker and have the best technology to deal with all pressing world matters, but perception is of the essence.

While we're at it, Secretary of State Hillary Clinton's first assertion that a no-fly zone over Libya was not called for may have been the wrong call. Besides, Hillary is no stranger to no-fly zones. She's imposed one on numerous occasions on Bill.

Not surprisingly, every potential GOP presidential hopeful is skewing Obama's leadership when it comes to Libya.  Republicans want an Iraq for Obama so it can be a campaign issue in 2012. Right wing-nuts just want another war. In fact, they're probably singing the praises of one in the form of a song.

So here it is, "Libya, the Oil-Rich Country." It's sung to the tune of "Lydia, the Tattooed Lady" made famous by Groucho Marx in the Marx Brothers' classic comedy "At The Circus." The chorus goes something like this:

"Libya, oh Libya, let's invade Libya

Libya, the oil-rich country.

Obama is waffling, Hillary's running the show

Gadhafi's the new global villain whose got to go.

It's a nightmare scenario as chicken Democrats know.

It's time we invaded Libya...."

  Ignorance in America

         According to a report mentioned on MSNBC, Americans are more ignorant than we thought was humanly possible.

The report claims that a lot of our fellow Americans couldn't circle Independence Day on a calendar. Others couldn't answer what came about from the constitutional convention. Still others couldn't name the vice president. On that one, maybe they should get a pass. No one remembers the name of the VP. Kind of like no one remembers who lost the World Series.

MSNBC could have, but didn't, follow a report about ignorance with a report about the latest in the adventures of Sarah Palin. It would've been a natural transition. Palin is the poster girl for American Ignorance. And she backed it up again.

On a paid speech in India, Palin said during an interview that political figures don't criticize the current administration while they're overseas. Then she slammed President Obama for "dithering on India" and that he should've come out in suport of the rebels sooner.

Palin's next stop is Israel. Maybe there she'll start referring to the White House as the Waffle House.

By the way, shouldn't a potential GOP presidential candidate be in America on Fox News being scripted as to what to say about Obama while all this crisis thingy is going on in Libya?

Apparently Palin is looking to "man up" by "beefing up her foreign policy credentials."

Before than happens, maybe someone should ask her "Who's buried in Grant's tomb?"

Just as well not, she'd probably answer "When did Hugh Grant die?"
