The Republican Party — by way of Fox News and America’s Bully, Rush Limbaugh, are grasping at the proverbial straws.
They’re trying to once again command the conversation. This time on the bin Laden killing.
Their main point of contention: Enhanced interrogation worked and eventually led to the killing of bin Laden.
They’ve been punched in the gut by The Man who made the gutsy call to order the kill shot on the world’s most wanted terrorist.
So all they have left is trying to take credit.
Fact: Under President George W. Bush’s watch, the United States was attacked on Sept. 11, 2001, by terrorists who swore allegiance to Osama bin Laden.
Fact: On May 1 of this year, on President Barack Obama’s watch, that same terrorist was killed.
Now all that’s left for the party of Palin and Bachmann and Trump is trying to brainwash the American people into believing that the good ole days of torture worked.
Sorry, Chenyites, that argment doesn’t hold water (boarding.)
The right wing-nuts (who didn’t want to have anything to do with W. during the 2008 campaign) are now trying to give W. not just some of the credit — but all of it.
It looks like W. doesn’t want much of it —- he declined an invite to be at ground zero on Thursday to share in the glory of getting bin Laden.
W. probably doesn’t want to return to the scene of the worst crime on America. One that his administration could’ve perhaps prevented had they paid attention to the warning a month before the attack which clearly said in bold-face big black letters “bin Laden determined to attack the U.S.”
The right wing isn’t stopping at not giving Obama any credit. Get ready for their next move to try and take down “The Man Who Got Bin Laden.” That being they want to see proof of the maniac’s demise by seeing the photos of his dead body.
How long before Parrot Palin starts screeching “Show us the photos!” to crowds who worship the ignorant.
But tread lightly, conservatrons, you don’t want to look too anti-American by not joining in the renewed pride.
And you certainly don’t want “real America” to believe that bin Laden is not really dead and that the Obamatrons faked it —- because then you’d be questioning the Navy Seals.
Say what you will about the skinny guy with big ears —- but questioning military action —- especially when it’s successful —- is digging yor own political grave.
Not that there’s anything wrong with that…..
