Medicare goes to the polls

There's a special Congressional election in upstate New York today to fill the seat of the creepy Republican who immediately resigned a few months back after he posted a picture of himself shirtless on Craigslist.
But he's not the reason why the Republican in the race is apparently trailing in the polls to the Democrat ---- the main issue is Republican Congressman Paul Ryan's "kill Medicare as we know it plan."
The 26th District in upstate New York is staunch Republican. Voters there even favored last year's GOP/Tea Party candidate for governor, Carl "The Thug" Paladino. He's the same Carl Paladino who was caught on camera during the campaign threatening violence against a reporter, getting in the guy's face and screaming to "take you out."
If the Democrat wins the seat, it will be seen as a referendum on the Ryan plan. If the Republican wins, Democrats will still claim a minor victory because the GOP had to put in a lot of money to finance a win, and even had to call in "Bush's Brain" Karl Rove to be field general and command a smear campaign.
In any event, if the Democrat wins, they can play this song at the victory rally. It's called "Medicare" and should be sung to Paul Simon's hit tune from the 1970s, "Kodachrome."

"When you look back on all the crap politicians lie about

It's no wonder you don't want to vote at all.

Even though your knack for falling for it disappoints you

You always know when to vote 'em out when they call.

"Medicare

It gives you blanket cover

Breathes new life into dad and mother

Makes granny look forward to another day.

Ditch the Paul Ryan plan

He's Big Pharma's man

So Republicans don't take my Medicare away.

        "Republicans don't take my Medicare

Republicans don't take my Medicare

Republicans don't take my Medicare away.

         "Republicans leave my entitlements alone

Don't try to throw the middle-class a bone

Republicans don't take my Medicare away...."
