Quakes, 66ers have dramatic wins

Both the Sixers and Quakes won dramatically on Tuesday. One was a dramatic individual performance and the other was a dramatic rally.

Sixers slugger C.J. Cron went 5 for 5, the first Sixers five-hit game in nearly a year, with a home run and four RBIs to lead the Sixers over host Lake Elsinore 7-2. Jeremy Cruz added a three-run inside-th-park home run. Angels starter Jerome Williams (hamstring), who is scheduled to start for the Angels on Sunday at New York, allowed two runs in six innings for the Sixers.

The Quakes, meanwhile, trailed Lancaster 5-2 in the eighth when they scored five runs. Chris O’Brien’s two-run double put them to within 5-4, then Austin Gallagher belted his first homer of the season, a two-run shot, to give the Quakes a 6-5 lead. They went on to win 7-5. Dodgers No. 1 prospect Zach Lee was not quite as impressive as his opening night start, but struck out four and allowed two earned runs in five innings for the Quakes.
