The Quakes rallied to post a 5-4 win at Lancaster, snapping a three-game losing streak, while the Sixers used another strong start by Donn Roach to beat Lake Elsinore 5-1. That win snapped the Sixers’ four-game losing streak and Lake Elsinore’s seven-game win streak.

The Quakes trailed 4-3 in the eighth when Tyler Henson hit an RBI double to tie the score and Charlie Mirabal followed with an RBI single to give the Quakes the lead.

The Quakes also got some good relief pitching. Juan Rodriguez (2-1) got the win with a shutout seventh. Greg Wilborn entered and walked the first two batters of the eighth, so Steve Smith came in to replace him. Smith then wriggled out of the two-on, no-out jam and then Logan Bawcom pitched a scoreless ninth for his league-leading fifth save.

As for the Sixers, Roach (4-0) took over sole possession for the league lead in wins, by lowering his ERA to 1.32 with seven innings of one-run pitching.

With the score tied 1-1, the Sixers took the lead for good in the fifth, starting with Jett Bandy’s second homer of the season. Travis Witherspoon added an RBI single and Randal Grichuk added an RBI triple in the inning.
