The 66ers and Quakes were at opposite ends of the offensive spectrum on Saturday.
The Sixers (11-12) scored a season-high 12 runs, rallying from a 7-2 deficit by scoring three in the fifth and five in the sixth, winning 12-8 over first-place High Desert (14-8). It was played in front of the largest home crowd of the season at San Manuel Stadium, 5,076.

The Quakes rallied to post a 5-4 win at Lancaster, snapping a three-game losing streak, while the Sixers used another strong start by Donn Roach to beat Lake Elsinore 5-1. That win snapped the Sixers’ four-game losing streak and Lake Elsinore’s seven-game win streak.

The 66ers lost in ugly fashion on Tuesday night, dropping a 16-6 decision to Lake Elsinore at San Manuel Stadium, while the Quakes also lost to Lancaster, 6-3.
The Sixers committed five errors that led to seven unearned runs, Sixers pitchers surrendered 20 hits and while the lineup managed six runs, they were just 3 for 16 with runners in scoring position and left 11 men on base.
Brian Hernandez went 5 for 5, joining C.J. Cron as the only Sixers this season with five-hit games. Max Russell (1-2) allowed 11 runs (five earned) on 10 hits in four innings.
A day after snapping their losing streak to open a homestand, the Quakes went back to their losing ways, dropping an 8-4 decision to Visalia.
Scott Wingo, in his second game with the team, was 3 for 5 with two triples and Jonathan Garcia and Nick Akins had two hits apiece. Starter Angel Sanchez (1-2) was shelled, allowing seven runs (five earned) in 4 1/3 innings.
The 66ers bats, meanwhile, were stymied in High Desert, losing 7-2. Travis Witherspoon was the only Sixer to really do anything, as he went 3 for 3 with a two-run double and they had only two other hits.
High Desert starter Roenis Alias (2-0) didn’t strike out a batter in 7 1/3 innings, but allowed only three hits, three walks and no runs.
The 66ers went to play in the rarified air of Adelanto for the first time on Thursday and dropped a 14-8 decision to the host Mavericks, while the Quakes returned home from a seven-game road trip and defeated Visalia 5-1.

Drew Heid led off the bottom of the 11th inning with a home run, giving the Sixers (8-5) a 7-6 victory over the Modesto Nuts at San Manuel Stadium on Wednesday.
The win boosted the Sixers (8-5) into a tie for first place in the South Division with the High Desert Mavericks (8-5), who lost at Lancaster.

The 66ers gave away Felix Hernandez bobbleheads on Saturday night against the High Desert Mavericks, but the game was more worthy of an Academy Award than a Cy Young Award.
After some too-bizarre-to-believe plays, the Sixers held off the Mavericks 6-5 before 2,943 at San Manuel Stadium.

The Sixers second home game of the season on Friday at San Manuel Stadium against the High Desert Mavericks, was rained out. It will be made up as part of a doubleheader on Sunday April 29.
The Quakes are in Visalia and were also rained out. Those teams will play a doubleheader this Sunday, April 15.
A good start to the season didn’t translate to a good start for the home opener.
After the 66ers went 5-2 on the road to open the season, left-hander Nick Maronde (0-1) walked four of the first five batters in the game and allowed three runs in the first inning. He eventually walked five and allowed five runs in four innings, tying for the most walks he’s had in 13 professonal starts.
That took the air out of the crowd of 2,572. The Sixers fell behind 5-0 and scored runs in the fifth and sixth innings (on an error in the fifth and a Jett Bandy RBI double in the sixth) but could get no closer, losing 6-2 to the High Desert Mavericks.

Both the 66ers and Quakes finished up their season-opening seven-game stretch with victories on Wednesday.
The Sixers won at Lake Elsinore 4-2 and will return to San Manuel Stadium for their home opener on Thursday against High Desert. Both the Sixers and High Desert are 5-2, tied with San Jose for the best record in the league.
