Davik Teng's story began in the back country of Cambodia, but the next chapter will take place in Southern California, where surgeons will try to fix the young girl's damaged heart. Press-Telegram reporter Greg Mellen and photographer Jeff Gritchen have just returned from Cambodia with 9-year-old Davik and her mother, Sin Chhon, along with Peter Chhun, an NBC News cameraman, and Chantha Bob, better known as Bobby at work at Sophy's Restaurant in Long Beach, who have been leading the quest to bring her here for care at Children's Hospital of Los Angeles.
Watch the PT and this blog for continuing coverage of Davik's progress.
Davik story will be highlighted on the Today show on the morning of April 18
and
Peter Chhun, the founder of Hearts without Boundries, and an NBC producer will be featured in the NBC Nightly News in the Making a Difference segment on Friday, April 18
