See You Friday

Thanks to a five-run fourth inning, the El Rancho High School baseball team defeated rival La Serna 7-1 to force a deciding Del Rio League Championship Game Friday at El Rancho.

The Dons (19-4, 12-2) entered the top of the fourth down 1-0 behind solid pitching from La Serna starter Casey Serna (5-1), who had started the game with nine consecutive outs.

However, El Rancho received an RBI double from Aaron Flores, an RBI single from Mike Manriquez and a clutch two-out, two-run triple from Marcus Aldecoa.

That was all that Dons starter Chris Villalobos (11-1) needed. The senior struck out nine Lancers (18-7, 12-2) in setting the El Rancho career-win mark at 20 wins. According to Dons coach Frank LLanes, Villalobos broke Ron Leos' mark.

Check out Thursday's paper for more details.

Hope to see a big crowd at El Rancho Friday, it should be wild.
