I asked if readers felt Sunday night's jolt and they sure did. Anecdotes came in from Belmont Shore, North Long Beach, Park Estates and other locations. Check out the comments http://www.insidesocal.com/canalisreport/2009/05/feel-that-quake-shakes-long-beach.html
I'll include the best stories in a roundup for Tuesday's paper. Post them here or email me at john.canalis@presstelegram.com

We were at Disneyland and no one there felt a thing! The first indication we had was walking to Small Word and discovering all the rides were shut down because of the eathquake...."what earthquake??" was the prevailing comment.
Goodness! I'have been in several earthquakes but they usually caught me downtown LA where I work on a High rise; there the movement is usually magnified side to side when the building swings. But this is my first one at long beach (@Alamitos beach) and is the biggest one 've felt! I was at the sofa and felt a jolt up and down, everything shaking, the noise is the most disturbing part I think, very loud rumble, increasing movement and 20 secs that seem to last a lot more than that! so many thoughts in one sec! first thinking "what if this is the big one!" and wanting to now immediately where it was, how big, etc. first thing I did was to look at the ocean and make sure the water was not receding. The website of the US geological survey immediately posted there was no danger of tsunami (my biggest fear) so then it was just me and my husband making fun of each other. The feeling is amazing, i was shaking for another god 20 minutes! So glad no one got hurt!
