Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger wants school textbooks to go digital. The cost is lower, he says, and  it's easier for students to carry laptops than heavy tomes. Yahoo! has the story http://tech.yahoo.com/news/afp/20090609/tc_afp/useducationinternetcalifornia_20090609155456

Our governor is an idiot. Textbooks for many reasons have intrinsic value, everything even if we could do so doesn't mean we should. Going all digital is a prime example. I am a collector of books and feel fortunate to view them as the works of art that they are. Children learn to read as they turn pages, color pictures and sit in a parent's lap. Punching a computer button just isn't the same. Not everyone can afford a lap top computer. Learning one on one from an actual human and not a machine is irreplacable. The governator shows his true robotic character as he is stuck eternally in the role he played in The Terminator. When is the next election? Can't wait!
