Should Sunset Beach join Seal Beach or Huntington Beach?

In an online poll, 55 percent of 100 Orange County Register readers said Sunset Beach should become part of Seal Beach.

About 30 percent said Huntington Beach made more sense. Another 20 percent voted for Sunset Beach cityhood.

Sunset Beach residents recently voted to join Seal Beach, after a county commission recommended that the 1,200-resident community be annexed by Huntington Beach.

Read about the poll in the OC Register and the overall issue, also in the Register, here.

Feel free to weigh in on the debate on my blog.

Huntington Beach is across the street, including the fire station. Seal Beach is across the bridge. HBPD is over 200 strong, SBPD has about then 30 Officers. If the bridge gets shut down public safety will have to drive all the around from Seal down Bolsa Chica Road. If Sunset goes to Seal, HB needs to make sure and charge SB full pop for any time our public safety spends in Sunset Beach.
