Rep. Linda Sánchez will meet with constituents from 6 to 7 tonight at the Ralph's supermarket on South Street and Carmenita Avenue in Cerritos. The Lakewood Democrat will answer questions and listen to concerns from constituents in what she calls an "office hour."
I attended the meeting and although I'm strongly in support of healthcare reform with a public option, the format was poorly run. Less than half the people there(about 40) got to talk to Representative Sanchez and that left many who took the time to go very unhappy. The townhall format has been corrupted by people more interested in getting on a cable TV broadcast but this was hardly much better.
