4-28-08 Photo of the Day
Multiple photos were strong. The first is an unexpected photo from James Carbone. He shot a story on a new lift at a hospital. The caption reads: Beatrice Denis Edwards, 85, of Whittier, smiles as she get's lifted into bed with the help of a Liko Cieling Lift, part of the Safe Lift Program, at the Presbyterian Intercommunity Hospital in Whittier. The Liko Cieling Lift is a new tool at the hospital to help move patients in and out of bed easily and safely.
Sarah Reigewirtz spent the day on the fire lines shooting the fire crews as they fought back the Santa Anita Fire. Two photos shined. The first photo caption reads: Inmates with the Los Angeles County Camp 14 fire crew hike a hill as they cut a fire line in the foothills above Sierra Madre to hold back the Santa Anita Fire from homes Monday April 28, 2008. Over 500 acres have burned and around 1000 residents have been evacuated.
The second photo caption reads: Los Angeles County Camp 14 fire crews cut a fire line in the foothills above Sierra Madre to hold back the Santa Anita Fire from homes Monday April 28, 2008. Over 500 acres have burned and around 1000 residents have been evacuated.
