In Their Honor

The Chino Valley Independent Fire District honored those who died in the terrorist attacks of Sept. 11 with a ceremony Thursday at Station 66 in Chino Hills.

About 40 people, including uniformed and non-uniformed employees, fire district board members and an honor guard, attended the annual event. A prayer was said and flags were lowered to half-staff. A wreath was also set in front of the station's memorial.

Pete Morales, a firefighter-paramedic with the fire district, said it was important to remember.

"It's about never forgetting the tragedy that happened on 9/11," he said.
