New Chino Hills city hall to open

Chino Hills City Hall will close for the last time at 2001 Grand Avenue at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 30. City Hall will remain closed on Friday, Oct. 31 and Monday, Nov. 3. The new City Hall building will open to the public at 7:30 a.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 4, nearly 17 years after Chino Hills became a city on Nov. 5, 1991.

The entire operation will be moved between Friday and Monday to the new 59,000 square foot. Government Center City Hall building, located at 14000 City Center Drive. City Hall telephone numbers will not change. The Chino Valley Fire administration will follow the same schedule that City Hall is following with their plan to move to their new 16,000 square foot building located at 14011 City Center Drive with an opening on Nov. 4.

The Recreation Division will maintain offices at the Civic Center Community Building, 2001 Grand Avenue and will continue to offer classes and programs at the location. Registration for classes will be accepted at both the old location and at the new City Hall. The James S. Thalman Library is expected to relocate to their new 28,000 square foot location in January of 2009.
