Chino Community Theatre opens new show

On Golden Pond," directed by Chris Diehl, plays at Chino Community Theatre at 8 p.m. Sept. 18, 19, 25, 26 and Oct. 1, 2 and 3 and at 2:30 p.m. Sundays, Sept. 21 and 27. 

Norman and Ethyl Thayer revisit their family vacation home for one last summer on Golden Pond. Norman's morbid yet humorous preoccupation with his own death is diffused by Ethel's zest for life and the love she has for her husband. When the couple's estranged daughter Chelsea shows up, ghosts from the past shadow the summer days on the lake, but an unexpected guest helps remind Norman that there is still live to be lived. Humor and tenderness weave a warm summer tale, according to the show producers.

Tickets are $15 per person general admission and $12 for students with ID and seniors age 55 plus. Cast includes: Bill Bishop, Virginia Shannon, Chris Marler, Kadn Fox, Susan Reeves and Nick Velasco.
