Firefighters respond to reported fires

Chino Valley Fire District firefighters from Sept. 4 to Monday responded to a total of 91 calls.

Among the calls:

- At 12:40 p.m. Friday, firefighters were dispatched to the 7000 block of Merrill Avenue in Chino for a reported grass fire. Firefighters found and extinguished a grass fire along a fence line, which was about 3 feet by 50 feet. Damage, estimated at $100, was limited to several fence slats. The blaze is being investigated.

- At 1:37 p.m. Friday, firefighters were dispatched to Euclid Avenue at Merrill Avenue for a reported grass fire. The fire was extinguished by a booster line. The cause of the fire is undetermined.

- At 2:24 p.m. Friday, firefighters were dispatched to Euclid Avenue at Kimball Avenue for a reported small spot fire. Firefighters extinguished the blaze with the use of a booster line. The cause of the fire is undetermined.
