Large music competition set for Ayala High School

The Western Bands Association Field Show Competition, www.westernbands.org,  will be held at Ayala High School on Oct. 17, with 28 competing high school bands from around the state.

The world renowned RCC Riverside Community College Marching Tigers will perform an exhibition, and several bands from out of state will be on hand. 

The smallest band performing is Taft High School with 40 members, and the largest Band performing is Chino HS with 194 members. Total performers, not including exhibition is 2,653 members for the entire day.

Opening ceremonies  begin at 1:30 p.m. and an awards ceremony begins at 6 p.m. Awards for the larger division bands will begin at 9:45pm.

Over 300 directors, instructors and support staff will accompany the performing members.

Ayala HS, Chino HS, Chino Hills HS and Don Lugo HS will be competing.

Concessions will be available for sale. Vendors will also be present selling merchandise and food. Admission is $10 for adults, $5 for seniors and children and free for the military.
