Ayala High to host band competition

The Western Bands Association Field Show Competition will be held at Ayala High School on Saturday. Twenty-eight high school bands from around the state will compete.
The Riverside Community College Marching Tigers will perform, and several bands from out of state will be on hand.
The smallest band performing will be Taft High School with 40 members. The largest band performing will be Chino High with 194 members. Total performers, not including exhibitions, is 2,653 for the entire day.
Opening ceremonies begin at 1:30 p.m. An awards ceremony begins at 6 p.m. Awards for the larger division bands will begin at 9:45 p.m.
Over 300 directors, instructors and support staff will accompany the performing members.
The district's four high schools will be competing.
Concessions will be available. Vendors will also be present selling merchandise and food. Admission is $10 for adults, $5 for seniors and children and free for the military.
