Chino Police promotes for new Captain
Lt. Karen Comstock, of the Chino Police Department, was promoted to Captain on Thursday after former Capt. Miles Pruitt's recent promotion to police chief, said Michelle Van Der Linden, city spokeswoman.
Comstock began her career with the Chino Police Department in 1985 as a Police Explorer and worked for the City of Chino as a Cadet and as a Reserve Officer until she was hired as a Poice Officer in October of 1990.
Comstock has served as a Police Officer, Field Training Officer, Patrol Supervisor, Detective Bureau Supervisor, and was a member of the Crisis Negotiations Team, according to a department Web site. She has also worked as a Detective in the Criminal Investigations Bureau and in the Background Investigation Unit assisting with the recruitment and selection police department employees.
Comstock is currently a Watch Commander working swing shift patrol.
Comstock was raised in Chino and graduated from Don Lugo High School. Karen has a bachelor's degree in Business Management from the University of Phoenix and holds a master's degree in Organizational Management. Comstock was promoted to Lieutenant in 2007.
