Chino Valley Unified School District news
- Chino High School student Amber Pilcher is being honored for her support of the principles of the National Council of Negro Women.
The organization works to advance opportunities and the quality of life for women and their families by creating programs to provide food for the hungry, educational opportunities, job training and programs for abused, homeless, disadvantaged and working mothers.
- The first, second and third place winners in the annual Chino Hills Healthy Cities Steering Committee "Celebrate the Family" Poster Essay Contest were announced. The winners are from Chaparral, Country Springs, Eagle Canyon, Hidden Trails, Litel, Oak Ridge, Rhodes and Rolling Ridge elementary schools and Canyon Hills and Townsend junior high schools.
- Ayala High basketball players Ariel Marsh and Mike Pamintuan received the CIF-Southern Section "Character of Champions" award. The students won for embodying, through words and action, the Six Pillars of Character as established by the CIF-Southern Section. The six are trustworthiness, respect, responsibility, fairness, caring and citizenship.
- The annual Principal for a Day event at the Chino Valley Unified School District will be held on Wednesday. The event kicks off with a breakfast at 7 a.m. at Dickson Elementary School after which community principals will head to their assignments for the morning.
