Kruger to take mantle of mayor of Chino Hills

| | Comments (0)
The Chino Hills City Council on Tuesday announced the appointment of Councilman Bill Kruger as its new mayor for 2010. The council also appointed Councilman Ed Graham to the position of vice mayor. Kruger replaces Mayor Peter Rogers on Tuesday.
This is the second time I've been mayor," Kruger said. "It's a lot of added work, but it's a definite honor to do that."
The term "vice mayor" replaces the title "mayor pro tem," a move suggested by Graham.
"I think the new title gives a clear indication of what the position is. When you say 'mayor pro tem,' nobody knows what that means, but when you say 'vice mayor,' it's clear you're in place of the mayor in his absence," Graham said.
Council members rotate into the position of mayor and vice mayor annually.
