Chino Police Department Partners in Special Holiday DUI Crackdown

| | Comments (0)
The Chino Police Department on Saturday will join law enforcement agencies from across the state and take part in California's 8-Day Holiday DUI Crackdown Campaign; participating enforcement agencies will deploy 300 DUI/Drivers License Checkpoints.

In 2008, 11,773 people died in highway crashes across the United States involving a driver or motorcycle rider with a blood alcohol oncentration (BAC) of .08 or higher.  In California 1,029 people were killed on state and local roads driving with a .08 BAC or higher with another 28,457 injured in alcohol involved collisions.

The Chino Police Department encourages all drivers to be alert, to not drink and drive, and to call 9-1-1 to report suspected drunk drivers.

Funding for the special enforcement campaign comes from a grant from the California Office of Traffic Safety (OTS) through the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
