DUI/Drivers License Checkpoint Results

| | Comments (0)
The Chino Police Department successfully concluded a DUI/Drivers License checkpoint last Monday resulting in three arrests, 18 citations, and four impounded vehicles.  The checkpoint took place on Monday, May 30, from approximately 6:00 p.m. and continued into the early hours of Tuesday morning, in the 11600 block of Central Avenue.

During the checkpoint, officers made three arrests; two for driving under the influence of either alcohol or drugs and one warrant arrest.

The purpose of this type of checkpoint is to arrest impaired drivers who are operating vehicles while under the influence of alcohol or drugs, cite unlicensed drivers, and to reduce the number of victims killed or injured in alcohol-involved collisions.

The DUI/Drivers license checkpoint was funded by a grant from the California Office of Traffic Safety, through the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.  The Chino Police Department encourages people to call 9-1-1 and report suspected drunk drivers.
