Claremont Coordinating Council to host health and wellness presentation reminder

The Claremont Coordinating Council will host a panel presentation on health and wellness from 11:45 a.m. to 1 p.m. Feb. 3.

The presentation will take place inside the Padua Room at the Alexander Hughes Community Center, 1700 Danbury Rd.

The presentation is free. A separate lunch can be purchased for $8 with an RSVP by Jan. 29 with Nancy Krahn at 909-399-5495. The lunch can also be bought at the door for $9.

Los Angeles County Department of Public Health officials, according to a city news release, will give information on how service and public policy can improve health and wellness and prevent chronic disease and promote healthy lifestyles at the community level; nutrition; recommended levels of physical activity; and the impact of baby boomers aging.

Angelica Baltizar, director of Healthy San Bernardino County, will discuss how community education, partnerships, access to safe and well-equipped parks and facilities, public policy and environmental design can building community-wide well being.

"The purpose of this Council is to encourage the voluntary cooperation and coordination of organizations, agencies, businesses and individuals interested in making the community a better place in which to live," according to a city news release.
