International film festival this weekend

The Whitehead International Film Festival runs from Friday through Monday at the campus theater.

According to a news release, Whitehead "developed Process theology and philosophy, which holds that everything that exists is interdependent, and that we live in and through our relationships with one another, and are therefore personally and communally responsible for the common good."

The festival's jury selects films based on artistic excellence, contribution to the common good, cultivation of hope for creative transformation, and other criteria, according to the news release.

This year's selections have won numerous awards including last year's Academy Award-winner for best foreign language film from Japan titled "Departures," and are also from Rwanda, Bahamas, China, Argentina, Israel/Palestine, Pakistan and Canada.

The general public is invited and tickets are $5 per film at Mudd Theatre, Claremont School of Theology, 1325 N. College Ave.

The festival's schedule, directions, and additional information are available at: http://whiteheadfilmfestival.org.
