Bikestation grand opening Feb. 24
The grand opening of Bikestation Claremont at the Claremont Metrolink Station will take place at 8:30 a.m. Feb. 24.
The station is at 200 W. First St. The bike transit center will offer "secure bike parking and a range of amenities including restrooms and bike repair and rentals to make biking for transit more convenient and secure," according to a news release.
The station is located along the Metrolink line and "represent(s) the nation's first systemic bike transit network and L.A. is taking the lead in this endeavor."
After the stop in Claremont, the group will head to Covina for a grand opening. The Covina location is the Metrolink station at 600 N. Citrus Ave.
The schedule for the Bikestation grand opening is as follows:
8:30 to 9:10 a.m.: Bikestation Claremont Ribbon-Cutting and Grand Opening Ceremony.
8:30 to 10 a.m.: Open house -- Bikestation tours, sponsor booths for prizes and giveaways, membership sign-ups, and more.
10 a.m.: Group bike ride from Bikestation Claremont to Bikestation Covina (guests can also take MetroLink).
Opening Ceremonies at Bikestation Covina will begin at 11 a.m.
11 a.m.: Rally start.
11:30 a.m. to 12:10 p.m.: Bikestation Covina Ribbon Cutting and Grand Opening Ceremony.
11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.: Open house - Bikestation tours, sponsor booths for prizes and giveaways, membership sign-ups, and more.
12:30 to 1:30 p.m.: Lunch at Nick's Taste of Texas, Free taco plate for bike riders
