Community budget workshop has 12 people; Feb. 16 is next

The 2010-2012 community budget workshop Wednesday night at the Blaisdell Community Center had 12 people sign up.

The next community budget workshop, meaning the public is invited to participate, will be from 7 to 9 p.m. Feb. 16 inside the Padua Room at the Alexander Hughes Community Center, 1700 Danbury Rd.

A commissioner budget workshop, for commissioners, is scheduled for 7 to 9 p.m. Feb. 17 at the Hughes Community Center.

A council budget workshop, with results from the public workshops and what direction to take, is scheduled for 9 a.m. March 27 inside City Hall, 225 W. Second St.

I don't think the city actually wants people involved.....They do a fairly sub-par job at communication. It's supposedly a goal for them to be on the cutting edge of citizen involvement....

And having citizens involved in the budget once every two years!!!!

Yea, right, like they want involvement!

A citizen group would need to form and review the spending each month to even understand what is happening with their spending.

They'll get what they want, low citizen involvement and more freedom to spend away!!!! Especially the 200,000+ salary for the manager.
