Claremont Faculty Association bargaining chair Joe Tonan was voted president of the CFA on July 1 for the next two years.

Tonan said members voted him into the position. He said former CFA president Suzanne Miller will go back to the bargaining team, which she worked on before.

Tonan said he will leave his bargaining chair position after current negotiations for the 2009-10 year are wrapped up.

On Monday, when asked how negotiations were going, Tonan said CFA officials are talking to the the school district officials and he said he is "hopeful."
