Tom Fingar will discuss "China on the World Stage" at 6:45 p.m. Oct. 25 at the Marian Miner Cook Athenaeum at Claremont McKenna College, 385 E. 8th St.

Fingar's presentation on China, with the second largest economy and considered a critical member involved in international security, will include answers to questions such as "Is China becoming a responsible great power or acting selfishly and assertively as a traditional rising power intent on maximizing its influence?"

Fingar is the Oksenberg/Rohlen Distinguished Fellow at the Freeman Spogli Institute for International Studies at Stanford University and was previously Assistant Secretary of the State Department's Bureau of Intelligence and Research, among other positions, according to a Claremont McKenna College news release.
