Popular children's author Dallas Clayton, whose latest book is "An Awesome Book of Thanks," will speak at 4:30 p.m. Dec. 12 at the Claremont Forum Bookshop.

Clayton has formed the Awesome World Foundation, which is a charity that donates one copy of the "Awesome World," his first book, for every book sold, according to a news release.

The author also recently appeared on "School Pride," an NBC television show, where he painted as part of a public school remodeling project a mural. The documentary film "I'm Still Here" with Jaoquin Phoenix and Casey Affleck also featured Clayton's work.

The Claremont Forum is a non-profit community organization in east Los Angeles County that offers enrichment programs and art.

The forum is at 586 West 1st St.
