Ryan Conners and the Youth Activity Center will hold the Make It Count free skate contest and video premiere at the Dick Guthrie skate park.

The event will be held at 5:30 p.m. Friday at the park, 1717 N. Indian Hill Blvd.

The event will have free giveaways and is a fundraiser for the The American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals.

In an e-mail, Youth Activity Center program coordinator Joseph McLellan said the Connors family "is eager to notify the public of this effort to raise awareness. Leslie Connors has helped coordinate several skate events at the park alongside YAC staff, and her son Ryan is a talented skateboarder with a huge heart for giving back to the community."
