Sept. 17 celebration city wide
Claremont will celebrate 9.17.11 on Sept. 17 in honor of its zip code, according to a news release.
Events include:
- A pancake breakfast from 7 a.m. to noon at Memorial Park, 840 N. Indian Hill Blvd.
Tickets are $5
- A Claremont Memorabilia exhibit from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Garner House, 840 N. Indian Hill Blvd. Admission is free and more information can be found at 909-621-0848.
- Rancho Santa Ana Botanic Garden free admission for Claremont residents from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the garden, 1500 N. College Ave. For more information, contact 909-625-8767
- Love in at Shelton Park from noon to 4 p.m. at the northeast corner of Harvard and Bonita Avenues with performances from Ray McNamara for a community drumming event, Las Lolas Flamenco dancing, Claremont Community School of Music, Ed Hume's bluegrass and Steve Rushingwind's Native American music and other artists.
- Free Claremont Colleges Walking Tour from 9:30 a.m. to noon where people meet near Seaver House, the northwest corner of College and Bonita Avenues. Reservations are required for the Claremont Heritage sponsored event. Contact 909-621-0848 for more information.
Other events include ice skating; open art studios; bike station open house; music and community booths; classic vintage car show; story time tales of old Claremont; art festival for kids; and more.
