Full statement from Claremont Unified School District board member Hilary LaConte on her endorsement from Claremont Faculty Assocation; Full CFA release on selection
Claremont Unified School District board member Hilary LaConte is one of three people (Joseph Farrell and Samuel Mowbray are the others) running for two seats on the school board.
Here is my original story that ran in Thursday's paper about the selection: http://www.dailybulletin.com/ci_18898760?source=most_emailed
Here is LaConte's full statement about being endorsed by the Claremont Faculty Association:
"I am pleased and honored to receive endorsement from the Representative Councils of both Claremont Faculty Association and California School Employees Association Claremont Chapter #200. My long association with district employees and the community has led to a level of understanding that allows them to feel comfortable with me as a decision maker. With 23 years of participation in this district, the last four as a board member, my actions and values are consistent and my agenda is unambiguous. They know that I am willing to listen to input and to make sometimes difficult decisions with the best interest of students, the district, employees, and the community in mind. They know that my objectives are to have an outstanding school district and to serve the community to the best of my abilities."

For Immediate Release
CFA Endorses LaConte For School Board
"After a thorough assessment of the three candidates, the Claremont Faculty
Association Representative Council voted to endorse Hilary LaConte for election to
CUSD Board of Education. Ms. LaConte has an extensive record of community service
and a passion for the students of our community. During her tenure on the Board she has
regularly visited school sites and listened to the concerns of staff. CFA appreciates Ms.
LaConte's strengths and looks forward to developing more effective avenues of
communication between teachers and the Board. According to CFA President Joe
Tonan, "The teachers, counselors, psychologists and nurses of Claremont need the same
level of access to Board members as administrators now enjoy. It is our hope that Ms.
LaConte will make this a priority."
