Native American Basket Weaving and Smart Gardening Workshop will be offered at the Claremont Public Library on Saturday.
- The Native American Basket Weaving class is for children ages 6 and up from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday.
Rose Figueroa, a veteran basket weaver, will present the workshop and each child with their caregiver’s help will weave a small basket, according to a news release.
Space is limited and those interested must sign-up at the children’s information desk.
The Smart Gardening Workshop for adults will take place from 10 a.m. to noon Saturday.
The Los Angeles County Department of Public Works will present a workshop tackling how to go and grow green, according to a news release.
The beginning workshop will focus on grass recycling, fire-wise and water-wise gardening, basics of backyard composting and worm composting.
There will also be compost bins available for $40 each and worm compost bins at $65 each with includes a half pound of worms.
