DUI and license license checkpoint Friday

The Claremont Police Department will hold a sobriety and driver’s license checkpoint at an undisclosed location within the city from 7 p.m. Friday to 2 a.m. Saturday.

Drivers, according to the news release, will be stopped to make sure they are not under the influence of alcohol or drugs.

Also, drivers will be checked to see if they are wearing seatbelts and hold a valid driver license, according to the release.

A grant from the California Office of Traffic Safety, through the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, funds the program.
