Rowland students get a fresh start at Northam and Jellick

Rowland Unified’s Family Resource Center served 300 children from K-12 at its Fresh Start event.  On Aug. 15, Northam Elementary held its event, while Jellick Elementary opened their campus to host day two for Rowland Heights families.

Costco generously donated 160 backpacks for this event. The children received backpacks with school supplies, 2 sets of shirts and pants, socks, underwear, and a hygiene kit.

Dressing room tents were set up to ensure the clothing fit. Fresh Start events prepare students that qualify, based on need, from head to toe, so they will start the school year prepared and confident.
