Podcasting production: December 2009 Archives
Today I composed my latest rant on how either Ubuntu or Xorg just doesn't like me (or my Intel video hardware), and today I boot into Ubuntu Karmic and the screensaver appears to be working normally, at least for short periods of time.
However, with the screensaver set on "blank," if I walk away for awhile, the machine stays running but the display won't come back.
Next test: Does the "random" screensaver make any difference here?
Almost but not quite totally unrelated: I'm going to cut together this week's Inside UCLA Podcast in Ubuntu using Audacity.
We recorded the podcast yesterday in the "studio" with a Macintosh G5 running OS X 10.4 (I think). Last week I did the post-production on the Mac, but this week I'd like to handle the whole thing on the laptop. I just FTP'd the files over. We'll see how the rest of this goes.
