Start of the fourth quarter: Clippers losing

After three quarters, San Antonio is leading 79-65 over the Clippers.

Rasual Butler – starting in place of Eric Gordon – leads the team in scoring with 17 while Eric Bledsoe has 11. Blake Griffin only has eight points, but has seven boards to go with it.

The combo of Richard Jefferson, Tony Parker and Manu Ginobili have a combined 51 points for the Spurs.

The Clippers are still looking for their first road win on this four-game swing.

Clippers lose to New Orleans

The Clippers were no match for the undefeated Hornets and Chris Paul and lost 101-82 in New Orleans.

Paul had 13 points, eight assists and three steals for the Hornets (7-0), which had six players score in double figures. Willie Green led the team with 19, while Jerryd Bayliss had 15, Emeka Okefor and Trevor Ariza had 12 apiece and Marco Belinelli scored 11.

The Clippers starters had a rough game with Eric Bledsoe only scoring six and Kaman two (in limited minutes), but Ryan Gomes had 11 and Blake Griffin and Rasual Butler (in a rare starting role in place of Eric Gordon) had 10 each. Because of the blowout and Kaman’s limited playing time, Al-Farouq Aminu played considerable minutes and led all scorers with 20 points on 7-10 shooting.

Even though the Clippers outrebounded New Orleans 39-33, the Hornets shot over 50% from the field and capitalized on 25 LA turnovers.

Clippers lose 109-107 in double OT

The Clippers missed a last attempt to tie in the last seconds of double OT and lost to the Utah Jazz 109-107 in Salt Lake City.

Eric Gordon scored 27 points for the Clippers (1-6) while Chris Kaman had 23 and Eric Bledsoe added 14. Blake Griffin, who fouled out in the second OT, scored 16 points and had 17 rebounds.

Deron Williams – who had the tie-breaking layup with 6.8 seconds left in the second OT – scored 30 for Utah (3-3) and Paul Milsap added 25 points and 12 rebounds.

Gordon tied the game at 91 at the end of regulation, but missed a runner in the lane at the end of the first overtime that could have won it.

After coming out strong to start the game, the Clippers again hit a snag in the third quarter, scoring only 18 points while allowing 31 and losing their lead.

Despite being down by 18 at one point, Utah continues its domination of LA – with winning eight of their last nine meetings.

Clippers lead cut to only 3

Like in yesterday’s game, the Clippers got manhandled in the third quarter by an opponent.

The Jazz outscored LA 29-16 in the third and cut their deficit to three going into the fourth.

Griffin and Kaman continue the lead the Clippers with 15 and 18 points, but neither scored in the third. Eric Bledsoe and Eric Gordon stepped up though and now Bledsoe has 10 points in the game and Gordon has 11.
