Clippers beat Spurs 90-85

The Clippers jumped out to a big enough lead in the first half and held on for the five-point win – the first over the Spurs in the last 18 games.

Los Angeles (4-15) outscored San Antonio (15-3) by one in the first quarter and seven in the second and were still up by five going into the fourth.

The Clippers shot 49% from the field with 10 players scoring – led by Blake Griffin’s 31 points to go with his 13 rebounds and four assists. Eric Gordon added 21, while Rasual Butler had nine, Bledsoe scored five and dished out seven assists and DeAndre Jordan had four points and 13 rebounds.

Grant Hill was San Antonio’s high scorer off-the-bench with 17 points while Manu Ginobili had 15, Richard Jefferson 13 and Gary Neal had 12. Fresh off a triple-double in his last game, Tim Duncan had eight points and five rebounds against the Clippers.

The game marked the return of Baron Davis after a 10-game absence to injury. Davis scored seven points and had 10 assists in his first game back.

It’s the Clippers second win over one of the league’s top teams in the last 10 days after beating New Orleans 99-95 a week ago Monday. The victory over the Spurs comes after two tough losses against Utah on Sunday and Phoenix two days before.
