Derek Fisher’s layup with no time left on the clock won it for the Lakers at Staples Center.
After DeAndre Jordan’s dunk with 15 seconds to go put the Clippers up by one, Kobe Bryant drove for the winning shot with time winding down, but he was fouled with three seconds left. Instead of shooting free throws, the Lakers took the ball out and then got it to Fisher for the game-winning bucket. The shot was so close to the buzzer that the referees had to verify the shot’s validity on the monitors after.
Eric Gordon led the Clippers with 24 points in the game and he added five rebounds and four assists, while Blake Griffin had 16 points and 11 rebounds and Eric Bledsoe scored 11. Jordan – who had the potential game-winning shot for the Clippers – finished with nine points and 11 rebounds.
Kobe Bryant led the Lakers also with 24 points on 9 or 15 shooting, while Shannon Brown scored 16 off the bench and Pau Gasol had 10. Fisher ended the game with only six points – but he had the last two of the game.
