Blake Griffin and double-doubles

Clippers forward Blake Griffin recorded his 24th double-double on Dec. 26, scoring 28 points and grabbing 12 rebounds. Griffin’s 24 double-doubles this season is the second-highest total in the NBA next to Kevin Love’s 26.

Griffin has registered a double-double in 18 straight games, the longest streak in the NBAthis season and now the second longest double-double streak for the Clippers in the last 24 years. Since the 1986-87 season, former Clippers forward Michael Cage holds the Clippers record with 19 consecutive double-doubles from Dec. 10, 1986 – Jan. 16, 1987. Since the 2001-02 season, Griffin’s 18-game double-double streak is the 6th- longest in the NBA. Kevin Garnett has the record with 37 straight and places with the 5th, 7th and 8th spots. David Lee (2nd), Dwight Howard (3rd), Paul Milsap (4th) and Emeka Okafor (6th) are also on the list.

Griffin can continue his streak tonight against the Sacramento Kings at Arco Arena. Tipoff is at 7pm.
