Clippers: The chase is on

If Sunday’s loss to Oklahoma City was an important Western Conference showdown in which the top dog held the challenger at bay, then turnabout is fair play for the Clippers in the coming week.
The Clippers face Milwaukee tonight at Staples Center but then must turn around for that most difficult of back-to-backs and fly to Denver to take on the surging Nuggets on Thursday.
Denver has won six in a row and the Nuggets are only three games behind the Clippers in the Western Conference loss column. And they’re off tonight, so they’ll be rested and ready to try to slice into the Clippers’ advantage.
The Clippers then will have two days off, play Detroit at home, then have two days off again before facing Memphis at home. The Grizzlies have won nine of their past 10 games going into tonight’s home game against Portland and are even with the Clippers in the loss column.
Overall, the Clipper play six of their next eight games at home before a four-game Western swing that finishes with back-to-back nights at San Antonio and Houston.
