Sometimes coaches say the most obvious things. Such was the case Monday evening after the Clippers defeated the host Charlotte Hornets 113-92.
The Clippers shot 51.1 percent overall. More importantly, they made 15 of 32 from 3-point range. That is 46.9 percent from beyond the arc, which is fantastic.
Afterward, coach Doc Rivers was asked about his team’s long-distance sharpshooting.
“It was huge,” he said. “It’s like I said, they had couple of 3s that they missed; it’s a make/miss league. When your shooters make shots, you’re a better basketball team.”
Jamal Crawford was 5 of 8 from 3-point range, J.J. Redick was 4 of 9.
