Jamal Crawford: Three road games in four nights is no excuse for lousy defense against Bucks in 111-106 loss

It was Saturday night in Milwaukee. The Clippers had just been defeated for the second night in a row, this time by the Bucks 111-106 at BMO Harris Bradley Center.

It was the Clippers’ third road game in four nights, and a reporter wanted to know if that might have contributed to a Clippers defense that allowed Milwaukee to shoot 56.6 percent from the field, a whopping 63.6 percent (7 of 11) from 3-point range.

Sixth-man Jamal Crawford wasn’t having any of that.

“I don’t want to make excuses,” Crawford said. “I tip my hat. The thing about the NBA is if you’re not ready, you can lose on any given night. You see it all around the league. For us, coach (Doc Rivers) had us prepared. But as players, we didn’t do what we were supposed to do and we have to get better.”

The Bucks are 12-12.

The Clippers began their three-game trip Wednesday with a 103-96 victory over a struggling Indiana team. The Clippers (16-7) then had their nine-game winning streak snapped when they lost 104-96 Friday at Washington.

The Detroit Pistons (5-19) are next for the Clippers. The teams will square off Monday at 7:30 p.m. at Staples Center.
