Power forward Ekpe Udoh, the last man on the bench, had scored only four points all season prior to Saturday’s game against the Philadephia 76ers. But thanks to the one-sided result – the Clippers won 127-91 – Udoh played six minutes, his second-longest of the season. His longest was eight minutes Dec. 1 against the Minnesota Timberwolves.

Udoh took advantage, scoring four points on a couple of 15-foot jumpers during the fourth quarter. That really jazzed up the starters, who were cheering from the bench.

“It was nice to see Ekpe make some shots,” coach Doc Rivers said. “He works every day and it is good. He has a 10-15 foot jump shot. We planned a play for him and he made the shot. The bench was excited for him because he works every day and never complains. He is also great on the bench.”

Udoh, a five-year pro, scored two points in that Dec. 1 game against Minnesota and two against the Washington Wizards on Dec. 12.
