As first impressions go, Austin Rivers’ was not very good Friday night. He did not score a point, missed all four of his shots and had just one assist in 11 1/2 minutes of the Clippers’ 126-121 loss to the visiting Cleveland Cavaliers.

His father, Clippers coach Doc Rivers, did not mince words.

“He struggled tonight, clearly,” said Doc Rivers, who made history by becoming the first to coach his son in the NBA. “Overall, I liked when he first came in defensively. But I just thought he struggled tonight.  You know, first game and he hasn’t played in a week.”
