Chris Paul’s Clippers had just defeated the Boston Celtics 102-93 in a Martin Luther King Day matinee at Staples Center. He talked about what playing on such an important day meant to him.

“A lot of us look at making it to the NBA and being so successful and sometimes we lose sight of how we even got here in the first place,” he said. “So it’s always special to play on Martin Luther King day. It’s crazy for me now being a father, you know, teaching my son (Chris II). He was at home yesterday talking about what today is, and it means a lot.”
